Suggest Treatment For Pulmonary Hypertension

Posted on Tue, 3 Oct 2017
Question: Hello,
I am a 67 year old male with CAD. I had double bypass surgery 20 years ago. Whenever I get many premature beats my voice get very weak. My voice also becomes weak when exposed to chemical odors. When the odors are gone or when the premature beats subside the weak voice get better. I am also right on the high normal limit for pulmonary hypertension. Test was done with catheter to check arterial pressure. I believe that the weak voice from chemicals is just a hyper sensitivity problem. But I am concerned about the weak voice when having premature atrial beats. Your input and advice is appreciated.
Thank you, Armand

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir

After going through the medical details provided by you i would like to tell you that heart lungs both are interlinked. The problem which you face during odor exposure could be due to hypersensitivity of your bronchial tissue to it which reduces the air circulation and thereby altering the voice.

Now during premature beat there is also a mismatch of functional rhythm between the heart and lungs. When heart beats prematurely the contractions are not powerful enough and the proper amount of blood doesn't circulate that why we feel kind of fluttering or heaviness sensation in chest that time. This can also cause the change in voice pattern during premature beats.

Although its not gonna cause any harm but if it bothering you then i would like to suggest you to consult your primary physician once.

I hope this information will answer your query.

Kind Regards
