Suggest Treatment For Puss Collection In Lungs

Question: Hello Doctor, I have a pus collection in my chest . My chest specialist suggested that it should be TB and I start taking the drugs Combutol 1000mg, RCinex 600, Pyzina 1500mg, also taking Streptomycin injection 0.75g daily. I have been taking them for the past 2 weeks and the pus collection has reduced drastically. My body weight is 80kg, age is 27 and male. Is the prescription correct ?. What would be the further course ?. My doctor suggest to reduce the injection after completion of 30 days, is that OK?

As per the details that you have shared things seems to be fine.

The drugs prescribed to your are known AKT(anti koch`s treatment). The dose depends on your body weight which seems to be fine.

Injection Streptomycin is given for initial period and the oral drugs are to be continue there after.

Again response to the treatment itself suggest that you are on right track.

Please complete the dose as advised. The entire treatment course if of 6 to 9 months. Do not stop the drugs even if you feel good.

Along with drugs do take good healthy diet rich in proteins. Stop any addiction if you have.
