Suggest Treatment For R Persistant Post Concussive Syndrome
Question: I'm writing to ask the best known treatments for persistant post concussive syndrome. Patient had 2 concussions less than a week apart; still has significant short term memory impairment over 2 years later with some long term memory deficits, chronic headaches, also has fatigue, depressed mood, irritable, inability to pay attention, easily overwhelmed, trouble sleeping, and weight gain--perhaps correlating with decreased activity. Currently treated with elavil, straterra, and lexapro; also weekly OT therapy. Nothing shows on 2 head CTs with contrast. No medical history prior to this. Will the condition improve as there have been conflicting medical opinions received at this point. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Detailed Answer:
Dear
I am sorry for the symptoms your familiar is suffering.
There are many examples which shows improvement between 1 to 5 years after trauma.
I think it is time to 're consult your psychiatrist because I think lexapro is a good choice but something need to be changed. Some mood medication need to be started (in my opinion depachine) and vitaminotherapy.
As no traumatic lessions are seen on CT I think it is still hope because you are just dealing with depression post trauma and now days depression is fully treatable
Hope my answer will help you
