Suggest Treatment For Rash On The Forearm
Question: Hello, i've had a rash, ONLY on my forearms, for the past year. Ive had 4 biopsies and they all come back inconclusive. The rash is horribly embarassing, especially now that its summer and I can't hide behind long sleeve clothing. I just started Elidel and it has helped a little, but the rash is still there.
It gets better if I've XXXXXXX in the sun, sometimes itchy, not always. Also painful and sensitive at times. Some bumps have a ulcer type appearance, others are closed pinkish papules. As the papules "heal", there is very dry, thick skin over it. Then it starts getting bigger again and goes back to the pink papule. Blood is very close to the surface of each bump. No pus, no other fluid from the bumps. Does not appear to have anything to do wirh hair follicles.

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone throuh your query and i have also reviewed the image.
I can see red, raised, papules as well as excoriated/ crusted papules/ papulovesicles.
The distribution seems to be on outer forarms.
I would keep a few possibilitis like of polymorphic light eruption, pityriasis lichenoides acuta/ PLEVA.
I would like to know whether it was present all year round Or are there any periods of remission e.g in winters?
Apart from elidel, which is pimecrolimus, what else have you tried? And what is the response to treatment?
Kindly upload a detailed biopsy report.
Regards
