Suggest Treatment For Rashes After Eating Sea Food
Oral acyclovir
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for posting on HCM.
I have keenly reviewed your history and pictures.
The rash you have mentioned after having sea-food is called hives or urticaria which is a kind of allergic skin reaction but in this case its different. The current rash which your son has developed is chickenpox or Varicella infection.
As such it is common in children and doesnot warrant much active treatment as it is self resolving. But for better healing, i would suggest you to consult your dermatologist at the earliest for proper management.
Usually in my patients of chicken pox, I advise 5 day long course of oral antiviral drug acyclovir in dose of 20mg/kg four times a day.
Apply antibiotic cream like mupirocin twice a day to prevent secondary bacterial infection.
Cold compresses can provide soothing relief.
Oral paracetamol can be given for any associated fever and oral antihistaminics like Benadryl for any itching.
Plenty of fluids should be given orally during the treatment.
I am sure with the treatment highlighted your son will be fine soon.
Let me know if you require any more assistance from my side.
Thank you

Consult a dermatologist
Detailed Answer:
Recurrence of chicken pox is not that common but it is definitely possible in cases where initial attack was mild.
Therefore, the best line of management would be to consult a dermatologist and discuss the treatment I have advised you.
