Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Genital Areas And Buttocks
Question: My 96 year old mother's partner (age 95) has been prescribed Vytone 1-1.9 cream 60 mg. for a rash on his legs and in his gential area and buttocks. He has been given a refil RX for 3 times. It is not helping and he refuses to get more because although his insurance pays all but $00 the retail cost is over $000.00 We have checked with three pharmacies to verify this (we are visiting them from out of state to help). He thinks this is an ethical ripoff (which it is). I notice it is a combination of lodoquinol (for fungus?) and hydrocortison so exhorbatant cost must be because no generic available. Is there a generic drug he can substitute or use over the counter hydrocortisone and something separate to treat the "fungus" which he has never had confirmed by a lab test. Another dermetologist suggested baby powder. I believe this might be a case of doctors prescribing willy-nilly and taking the money of this older adult because he has Tri-Care military inusrance. Please let me know if he can use another product (over the counter or RX) if he needs a lab confirmation of why he needs an antibiotic, Thank you. We are here two more days to help out.
