Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Upper Leg And Buttocks
Question: I have what started as a slight rash on my upper leg and butt. Even as the rash seems to still be there it looks better, I still seem to have hardness under it and a burning discomfort that I can feel even in places where there is no rash.
Brief Answer:
Bacterial infection of the skin to treat as following...
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
I have gone through the photo you provided and noted the rash on your upper leg and butt. It seems a skin infection, possibly bacterial.
Now, apart keeping it well clean, I advise to apply:
- gentian violet solution first
- then, apply over the counter anti-bacterial cream containing gentamycin and neomycin. Ask at your local drug store.
I'm sure you'll get better within a week. However, the treatment should be continued for at least 2 weeks.
Let me know if you have further queries.

you don't think this is anything associated with staph infection do you?
Brief Answer:
Staph infection is a type of bacterial infection...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Staph infection is a type of bacterial skin infection. It is determined by culture of discharge or swab of affected skin area.
As long as I do not have the culture result, I mentioned only bacterial infection of the skin in general that is treated locally first.
If no improvement, oral therapy is then recommended.
Wish fast recovery.
