Suggest Treatment For Recurrent UTI Infection After Catheter Removal

Question: I have been suffering for two weeks with UTI after removal of a catheter. Ciprofloxin does not seem to help. any ideas?
Brief Answer:
Get a culture done to identify germ and treat accordingly!
Detailed Answer:
HI and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this persistence infection though on ciprofloxacin. Cipro is a great drug for UTI and if symptoms persist, then the germ responsible for this could be atypical or resistant to cipro. My advice is that you get a culture to isolate the gem responsible and determining what antibiotic makes a difference. This way, we would be specific in treatment as opposed to being generic like we are doing now.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
