Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Cough, Cold And High Fever
Question: Hello doc,
I am a mother of 6 years old boy who tend to catch cough, cold and high fever every month. Sometimes it gets cured with only cough syrup and crocin but sometimes he needs to take antibiotics as well. This time also he has this cough from last 3 weeks. Fever got subsided in 4-5 days but coughing is still persisting. His paediatrician has also given him inhalers, asthalin twice and budecort twice, a day with Bricarex A syrup, 5ml twice a day. I am just trying to figure out does he has Asthma. Or will he going to have asthma if his lungs keeps on getting troubled so much.
Thanks a lot doc!
Much regards

Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. By the age of 6 years, most children have the maximum adenoid hypertrophy.
2. Get an X-ray Skull, lateral view for adenoids done. Upload the image (not the report).
3. Enlarged adenoids are the most common reason for sch symptoms. Hence these should be ruled out first.
4. After successful treatment of the adenoids, the asthmatic symptoms tend to decrease.
I hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be available to answer them.
