Question: Hello. I have swollen tonsils but one is alot bigger then the other and I have a swollen lymphnode in right side of neck. I just recently had bacterial tonsillitis about two months ago and I was prescribed amoxcillin and the swelling went down and I was good. About a month later they started to swell again but no symptoms. Just the feeling of a lump in my throat because of my tonsil. Also I have these very very tiny bums on both side of my cheeks beside my tongue that I can feel with my tongue and they have never been there before. I've been to a docter and they said I have a viral infection. Buy it's been a month now and it hasn't gone away and new symptoms are appearing. I wake up supper achy now and I feel like I'm having heart issues l8ke it's fluttering or something please help

Brief Answer:
acute tonsillitis.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having swollen tonsils.

Based on your clinical details and picture, it appears to be acute tonsillitis (one more episode with lymph node enlargement).

I suggest you to take simple over the counter panadol (paracetamol) 500mg thrice daily and salt water gargle (in case of viral tonsillitis this treatment is enough) for 3-5 days. In case of complicated tonsillitis or bacterial one, you may require to take a course of antibiotics.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions
