Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Typhoid Fever In A Child

Question: My daughter is of 6 years from last four year she got thyphoid in the month of july aug now today she also got thyphoid report i am uploading . My local doctor gives treatment of AZOWOK-XL 10ml once a day and Cefixime tab twice a day

Pls suggest it this ok and why this happens every year and suggest treatment so that it never repeat

The treatment is proper and you need to give it for 10-14 days.

Typhoid fever is caused due to a food borne infection (through contaminated water). Giving UV treated filtered water would help in preventing reinfection. Maintaining hand hygiene is very important.

As I have mentioned, typhoid fever spreads through contaminated water. You need to review your water source. Giving UV treated filtered water would help in preventing reinfection. Maintaining hand hygiene is very important. Unless you cut off the source the chances remain.

All you can do is to make him refrain from intake of water from untrusted sources. Make him carry water in a water bottle. There is no other way around.
