Question: What should I ask my peditrician to do if my child has problem with fighting off yeast infection? Manifesting in form of diaper "rash" now with thrush. 12 month male healthy othewise
Brief Answer:
Yeast
Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
Just mentioning thrush and yeast to your pediatrician is enough. The baby will be thoroughly examined. Then appropriate treatment can be prescribed. Oral thrush and yeast in the diaper area can both be efficiently treated with mild antifungal medications.

But should we be concerned about reocurring yeast infections and how should we find out the root cause.
Brief Answer:
Follow up
Detailed Answer:
It is definitely a a question to be asked. However, because these are so common in babies, there is most likely no underlying cause for it. At most, the doctor may want to consider a complete blood count (CBC) to reassure us that the white blood cells, the cells respnsible for fighting infection, are normal. More than that is not necessary.
