Suggest Treatment For Recurring Infection Near Mouth

default
Posted on Mon, 11 May 2015
Question: Hello,
I have a recurring infection near my mouth. It looks exactly like pimple/acne. It has specific location most of the time; near the lips(not very close), right above the upper lip(hurts the most). Shaving makes it worse. I have tried every kind of razor and nothing is working. I tested negative for Herpes and neither does my doctor suspected that at the moment. Antibiotics help, but the infection returns after a month or so, always at the same location. I have tried long and short doses of Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid.
The infection starts with one pimple and spreads to other locations, remaining close to mouth, it never spreads on cheeks, only in french beard area.
Attached picture shows the start of the infection. What could this be? Do I need more testing? It hurts a lot.
My doctor puts me an antibiotics again and again. I need some other solution.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Use antiseptic lotion before and after shave

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that you may be suffering from the acne, no need to unnecessary test to rule out other causes.

In this condition I personally advised
1. Use antiseptic lotion before and after shave.
2. Use Gillette Mac 3 razor.
3. Avoid applying oil over face and hair.
Better to consult with dermatologist for soap etc.

Thanks
