Suggest Treatment For Red And Inflamed Penis Head

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Jun 2015
Question: About six weeks ago after exercising I noticed the head of my penis was very red and inflamed. Over the past six weeks it has not gone away. It is only on the right side not the entire head. It is tender and looks very abnormal. There are a couple lesions. I've tried anti-fungal cream, steroid cream and it doesn't seem to help. It can't possibly be STD. I recently had blood test that showed my eosophonil levels to me very high. I had sinus surgery three weeks ago and the doctor, after today's visit said my healing is slow and it looks more like someone who had sinus surgery a week ago. I also have this lesion on my lower lip for over a year. It caps, crusts, peals off and then starts again. I've been to several doctors, but nobody can explain what is happening. I'm at a loss. I was in Mexico in December of 2013 and all of these issue actually started a year ago today. Any thoughts? I know i'm all over the place, but I can't help to think these are all related. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Most probably herpes Simplex Infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for the answers. I did not get any image. It would have helped me alot. Anyways most probable differfential in your case could be Herpes Simplex infection. It causes rash formation on genital areas and one variety of herpes causes lesion on lips as well. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:

- ibuprofen thrice a day for 7 days
- Acyclovir 400mg twice a day. It is usually given for 2-3 months depending upon severity and is a prescription medicine so you need to visit your local doctor to get it.
- Keep genital area clean.
- Use protection while doing sex

Improvement in this is a gradual process. You can discuss all these by visiting hospital and getting an appointment for a "Consultant Dermatologist".

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
