Suggest Treatment For Red And Warm To Touch Breasts During Pregnancy
Question: I am 13 weeks pregnant following successful IVF. About 4 weeks ago (before completing 10 weeks of daily progesterone shots), I noticed the underside of both breasts were red and warm to the touch. My OB examined the redness about two weeks ago and decided it was probably due to progesterone, so she was not worried. My breasts are still red and slightly warm to the touch, but it doesn't seem to be spreading. There is no family history of breast cancer. I have not been able to find any information on the internet about progesterone or IVF causing this particular symptom - every time I do a search, I end up with symptoms of breast cancer. Please help!
Brief Answer:
likely INTERTRIGO..not breast cancer
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
thanks for contdting health care magic.
The redness and warmth below both the breasts alone is a possibility probably due to side effect of progesterone..but has not been mentioned in literature.
To me if itchy is present in the area...below the breasts then it could be INTERTRIGO.
For that you would require a dermatologists opinion. It is unlikely due to any breast cancer, the skin changes are atypical.
for any you may further contact me directly.
