Question: I recently noticed i have a red bump on my right labia minora. It does not hurt and sort of looks like a pimple. Otherwise i feel fine. Is this herpes? Is this herpes?

Brief Answer:
Doesn't look like herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I saw the photo you have uploaded.

The pimple does not look like herpes because it is painful and also in herpes there is lots of small vesicles close to each other.

If you have had a sexual intercourse that you fear may have gotten a sexually transmitted infection though. I would recommend to do the tests because that is the best way to rule out them for sure.

If worse or not better, I would recommend seeing a local doctor.

Hope this is helpful.

Thank you. Is it possible to get pimples on the labia? I always thought any red bumps might be herpes .

Brief Answer:
Yes, pimples on the labia not necessarily are herpes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Yes it is possible. Just is it possible to get red bumps in the mouth or other mucosa.
But as I said the bumps in the genitalia hold in themselves the risk of being a sexually transmitted infection that is why they are taken more seriously, especially if the person is sexually active.

Looks to be healing nicely. On a related know i have noticed my blood oressure has been really high lately with a high diastolic pressure of 103 at times. Is this anxiety related or do i need fo swek treatment? Generally i have About 140/high 80s.

The bump seems to have disappeared so i think i am ok now but the anxiety is just taking its toll. I have made an appoirntment to get tested for sure in a few weeks

Brief Answer:
Measure Blood pressure values for some days and write down the values

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Glad to hear that you are doing better. Thank you for following up with me.

About blood pressure- you need to measure it thrice/day for 1-2 weeks, record the values and give them you your doctor when you see him/her. Make sure to be relaxed for at least 15 minutes when you measure it so you wont get anxiety induced values. The doctor will be able to guide you from the general pattern of the values if you need to start treatment or not. You can also follow up with me if you want- I'll be happy to help.

Regards and take care,
Dr. Papaqako
