Question: I had stitches removed from my knee today and it's red, painful, itchy and there is pus.

You need daily dressing till wound becomes dry. If there is large pus collection it needs to be drained. If you can attach a clinical photo of your knee wound then I can help you better. You may need to investigate in form of complete blood count, ESR, CRP, You may need to continue antibiotic to control infection. Infection may lead to scar formation. Hope this answers your query.
