Suggest Treatment For Red Rashes On The Thigh Area And Buttocks

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: I have had a weird red rash on my inner thighs and butt for a couple of months now. They burn but don't itch. Sitting down all day make the ones on my butt burn like crazy. I went to my local dermatolgist and they said I had acne and proscribed me clindamycin phoshate topical lotion and said to use benzoyl right before. This helped a little with the ones on my thighs but made my butt worse. Any suggestions as too what this could be and anything over the counter that might help?

Brief Answer:
folliculitis; use topical antibacterial cream

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have also reviewed the image.

I would keep a possibility of folliculitis. I suggest you to use a topical antibacterial cream / ointment e.g mupirocin or fusidic acid or neosporin, twice daily for a week.

Regards
