Suggest Treatment For Red Sore Under The Left Foot
Please upload a photo so I can evaluate the red sore you have.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using Helthcaremagic to seek help for your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
I will need to have a photo of your foot so I can have a look at the red sore, and can evaluate if it is a wart, callus, corn or a pressure wound that are common in diabetes.
If it is wart or a callus common initial therapy options include salicylic acid or cryotherapy.
Other options with limited evidence for benefit include topical medications like topical 5-fluorouracil, bleomycin intralesional injection, laser therapy, imiquimod, ect.
There are also some procedures that can be done, if any of the above treatment does not help like photodynamic therapy or hyperthermia.
If it is a sore from diabetes, then it will need total other treatment and care.
Let me know if possible as much information as possible about your general health, especially about diabetes- how are you treating it and for how many years, ect.
Looking forward to your follow up question with the photo in it.
Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
Salicylic acid or cryotherapy
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thank you for the information. It surely helps a lot, and I understand that it is a wart in the foot.
In that case, the advises I gave above apply.
So the first things to try are the patches, bandaids or cream with salicylic acid.
If you have tried those and haven't helped, then next is cryotherapy. You may need once or twice and it should help.
If cryotherapy is not available locally then other options with limited evidence for benefit include topical medications like topical 5-fluorouracil, bleomycin intralesional injection, laser therapy, imiquimod, or photodynamic therapy or hyperthermia.
It all depends on what is available there and also if you will need the doctors prescription to get any of these procedures done.
I hope I have helped.
Let me know if you have other questions or concerns.
Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
