Question: Hello,

I read that it only comes once in a life time. It might be shingles. Can you confirm if it is shingles. What can be done to cure this?

Brief Answer:
Neither shingles nor chicken pox, answer few questions
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it is neither chicken pox nor shingles.
It seems to be a maculopapular rash which can occur as s result of viral exanthem or due to reaction to any drug.
I would like to ask you few questions:
Is it associated with itching, burning or any other complaints?
What is the duration of the rash?
Is there any recent history of drug intake?
Do you have recent history of fever, sore throat, cough, cold, loose motions, bodyaches or any other systemic complaints?
Is the rash present on your palms and soles?
Kindly revert with the answers.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Seems to be viral rash, calamine lotion and antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
According to your complaints it seems to be a viral rash.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on the affected red areas twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching for 7-10 days.
This should resolve the rash.
