Brief Answer:
Unlikely STD, check pants , shave & wash, keep the area dry, use cotton pants, let it air

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query to HCM.

It is important to know if you have changed the quality of the pants you are using lately or not. Also, a change in the climate, maybe lots of heating could cause some irritation around these areas that could cause an inflammation.

I suggest pure cotton pants which are not tight fitting for the moment.

Have you experienced any discharge around the urethra?
Or any swelling of the lymph nodes around the groin or pain when urinating?

In case none of these is present, it is very unlikely that this should be a sexually transmitted infection.

I am of the impression that this is just an irritation.

I suggest that you should shave, keep the area dry, use clean pure cotton pants and apply topical baby powder around the area for some days and see how it goes.

Topical Steroid-erythromycin ointments could also be very useful for rapid relief of symptoms.

In case of persistence or aggravation of symptoms, you should consult your GP.

You may upload some images of the area (if you feel like) to let me assess it further.

Thanks and kind regards,

Dr Bain

Brief Answer:
It should be part of the same problem, see Dr if persistence ir aggrava

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the follow up question,

I suggest this should be part of the same issue. I suggest you apply the hygienic measures, keeping dry, cotton pants and use a topical over the counter corticosteroid/antibiotic for a couple of days. This normally should help within a couple of days.

Thanks and kind regards,

Dr Bain
