Brief Answer:
Please find probable specifics detailed below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Continuing with the assessment of possible kidney infection or stones, the following questions are likely to be asked by your doctor

(i) Since when are you having the pain and in which location. You have mentioned earlier that it is on both sides but more on the right.

(ii) It will help to know where the pain is first felt and how it radiates. For a kidney stone, the pain appears in the upper abdomen and radiates to the lower part along sides.

(iii) Pain due to kidney stones might also be felt at the tip of penis in males. It is important to know if you have this kind of pain.

(iv) Association of pain with fever and chills indicates probable kidney infection.

(v) The type of pain, intermittent or continuous, colicky or burning and whether focal or diffuse might be inquired by your doctor.

(vi) The color of urine is important in your case. Please tell the doctor if it is clear, frothy, turbid or reddish yellow dark urine. Urine that is odorous or ammonia smelling might indicate infection.

(vii) Any discharge from the penis including a blood or pus discharge is also important.

(viii) Difficulty in initiation of urine, the force or urinary stream and frequency and urge or any incontinence is also inquired.

(ix) Any injury to the upper and lower abdomen in the recent past is important to know.

(x) Past medical conditions and any treatment taken for it are also important. Conditions like diabetes, hypertension and any other condition for which you have been treated.

(xi) The intake of fluids and average daily water and fluid intake and urinary output is also important.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
