Brief Answer:
It is not normal but cause need to be identified

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Although not releasing sperm is not normal but it is not a serious problem. During the advanced age many of men develop prostate problem and take some medication to keep urination in control.

Some of the medications used for prostate cause retrograde ejaculation mean that at the time of ejaculation sperm move in backward direction and thats why there is no semen release.
It is possible that in your case you are retrograde ejaculation which can be confirmed by simple urine test.

The second possibility is obstruction of vas deference that again can be caused by prostate growth or any other benign or malignant growth.

To conclude it can be said that not releasing semen at time of orgasm is not a problem but cause must be ascertained so remedial measures can be taken if necessary.

I hope this answers your question.
Thanks and regards.
