Question : My nose was running a lot for 3 days with some occasional dry coughing. Yesterday, urgent care prescribed me prednisone, flomax, and (only if symptoms persist 3- 5 more days), a z pack. Also took delsym for the cough. The cough and runny nose subsided, both returned today and the flomax and delsym have decode ineffective. The gave me a quick flu test with cotton swab in nostrils which was negative. I have not taken the z pak. What should I do at this point?

By your history and description, possibility of acute rhinitis is more.
Flomax I having fluticasone. It is best treatment for rhinitis.
So you are should continue Flomax nasal spray.
Also start z pac (azithromycin) and finish its 3 days course.
Along with drugs, your should drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Do warm water gargles and steam inhalation 5-6 times a day.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
