Suggest Treatment For Runny Nose, Sore Throat And Cough With Yellow Throat Mucus
Question: I came down with an upper respiratory cold 10 days ago. Started with runny nose, sore throat, and then developed a cough with yellow mucus. 5 days ago, I had an argument at home and noticed uneasiness in my chest. It hasn't gone away in 6 days. I have tingling in chest, shoulder and back sporadically throughout the day. General discomfort. I am 44 and am treated for high blood pressure. I had good blood work three months ago. I also use chewing tobacco. I talked to my family doctor and he said he is not worried about heart issues but my anxiety is making me worse thinking I am in stages of a pre heart attack. My question is can the chest/shoulder/back tingling and discomfort be related to chest cold or possibly anxiety?
Brief Answer:
Yes
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Your symptoms are likely to be due to lower respiratory infection, probably bronchitis coupled with anxiety.
However you are at higher risk for cardiovascular diseases as you have high blood pressure and use tobacco. If you have not had an EKG recently it may help to ease your mind and exclude a coronary artery disease.
Do get back to me if you have any further query.
