Suggest Treatment For Seizures While On Xanax

Question: If being switches from 16 mg ir xanax to 16 mg er xanax should i be recwiving brrakthrough meds to avoid seizures until my levels are stable. Ive had seiZurs

You can safely switch to ER preparation.
Xanax dosing is high and what other antiepileptics are being taken with type of epilepsy is required.

No epilepsy im going threw benzo withdrawl. I was abusing the zanax. Now im trying to be tapered off but my levels are not there rite yet. Im still blacking out and having seizures. Should i be taking a break threw dose in between my xr dose until my levels even out?

Hello,

You can follow gradual tapering of drug under guidance.
Take IR preparations in between XR preparation with total dose remaining same.
The process of tapering is long, risky and associated with too many side effects.
