Suggest Treatment For Sensori Neural Hearing Loss In Both Ears
Question: Hi Doctor,
I'm a 31 year old woman having sensori neural hearing loss in both the ears may be from childhood but I found out only 5 years back. I followed it up with couple of doctors here in US and after taking audiometery test, they confirmed that I do have hearing loss in both the ears. They suggested me to use hearing aids which I've been using from past 2 years. I've even tried homeopathy medicines for 3 to 4 months, but no results were shown. i'm herewith attaching my reports older and latest ones for your reference. I want to get rid of hearing aids completely as I'm not able to move freely by having them on.
Are there any medicine(s) which can improve my hearing? if yes, can you suggest me
1) Where I would be able to buy those medicines? (Currently I'm in US and my parents are coming next week to visit me)
2) Is there any website which delivers the medicines to US address?
3) How many months do I need to use those medicines?
4) Can I buy those in bulk and store it if I need to use it for longer time?
Also suggest me how to use those medicines on a daily basis?
P.S : I'm just curious, I read somewhere on internet that using Sesame oil with crushed garlic in it will improve hearing, Is that true? If so, can you tell me how to make that mixture and how to use it?

I have read your query , seen your report and understand your concern.
If I were your treating doctor, I would advice you to do investigation like tympanometry with acoustic reflex & MRI temporal region. Also blood investigation for hypothyroidism ,diabetes , hypothyroidism , Kidney disease,etc.
Since you are having sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) since long time there is little scope for improvement with medication ( only upto 10% can improve with medication ). But medication will prevent further decrease in hearing.
Use Multi vitamin multimineral & antioxidant syrup like Vitasure available in US 2 teaspoon twice daily for 3 month.
No idea regarding Sesame oil with crushed garlic , Aurveda doctor can tell you about it .
You need to use some better small Hearing aid . If hearing further decrease then cochlear implantation can be considered.
You are having acquired SNHL which may be because of one of following reason
Infection in ears in childhood
Noise induced
Ototoxic drug in past
Age related
Familial history
Acoustic neuroma
Systemic disorders like diabetes , hypothyroidism , Kidney disease , autoimmune disease , blood disorder.
We need to find out cause to prevent further damage.
