Brief Answer:
Yes antibiotics are used to treat sepsis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for posting your query on HCM.

Yes definitely there is treatment for sepsis.

Sepsis can be localised to an area or to an organ or it could be generalised ie in the blood. To diagnose sepsis, the blood sample is collected if it is the blood or specimen from localised area like throat swab, sputum, pus etc is collected. It is then subjected to tests like various stains, culture to grow the microorganisms and antibiotics sensitivity test to know the appropriate antibiotics.

Since these test results take time, broad spectrum antibiotics are started if patient 's condition demands and then changed depending on the results of the tests.

I hope this answers your query.

Take care.
