Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Cramps And Vomiting

Question: I am having stomach cramping not necessarily after eating and unpredictable times. Could be a week apart, a month or even longer. Sometimes followed by a bowel movement, not diahrea, sometimes vomiting once, not a lot. Can relieve pain within about 1/2 hour by lying down.
Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy should be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thank you for the query.
Such symptoms at your age (over 50) can be caused by a partial bowels obstruction due to a large intestine tumor. It is not complete obstruction so the symptoms do come and go.
I suggest you to do not wait with it
Colonoscopy is strongly advisable.
Hope this helps.
Regards.

I had a previous bowel blockage surgery following surgery for bladder prolapse a few years ago. I don't recall these symptoms....just could not keep food or water down. Have had regular colonoscopies and am otherwise healthy. The only prescribed medication I take is Prilosec. My Dr also said stress. I'm a worry wart but not stressed about anything particular. Do not feel symptoms are normal.
Brief Answer:
Adhesions can be the reason.
Detailed Answer:
Well, than adhesions due to previous surgery is the most probable reason of the obstruction (it still seems the most probable reason). Symptoms may vary depending of the obstruction location (it is in a different than previously area). If you have had colonoscopy done, than the next step is abdominal CT with oral contrast called enteroclysis.
