Brief Answer:
Sequel of extensive dissection; please give feedback.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.

To recapitulate: Female/71 - hernia repair and tummy tuck 3 months back - pain, hardness in upper abdomen and constant stomach upset - your Doctor seems not to be worries - you had problems with your drain - had seroma -aspirations and has niagara fall from a couple of open sections in the cut - asking for any ideas...

My thoughts and explanations:
Hernia repair and tummy tuck needs extensive dissection of the under-surface of the skin. Since the bare area that is created is very large, the time taken for the opposing surfaces to get stuck with each other and get healed may be long and the resultant seroma does not allow the opposing surfaces to come in contact with each other, further complicating the actual healing.
The nerves get entrapped or cut inadvertently in spite of the care taken and cause the pain and irregular healing causing the hardness that you are feeling.

The cause for constant stomach may not be related to the surgery/healing directly. There may be gastritis or entero-colitis.
Please give details about this o that I can assist you more:
What sort of the trouble you get in the abdomen?>
Any nausea, vomiting, burning or spasmodic pains, bloating, constipation or loose motions?
Any other information you would like to share.

I hope this answer helps you to get her an early diagnosis and proper treatment.
Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Immediately after eating I must run to the bathroom, loose and explosive stools. A bit of bloating, but I imagine that could beassociated with the surgery. I have had a stool analysis which came back negatve for any bacteria.

Brief Answer:
Suggestive IBS

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.

Need to visit the bathroom with loose explosive stools immediately o eating indicates that you have IBS, irritable bowel syndrome and is not related to the surgery.

You need to consult a Gastroenterologist to get the clinical evaluation, actual examination and further tests as may be needed like colonoscopy, CT scan of the abdomen, tests of blood for routine, thyroid and so on as may be needed to rule out any organic pathology and to get you started under proper medical management.

You should have some things that you have to do:
Make a list of foods and beverages that instigate or enhance such a problem and strictly avoid such things.
Stress and anxiety have to be under control all the times for this to be under control.
Drink cleaner water.

If investigations find something that needs a proper medical or surgical correction, please go for it.
