Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea While On Lansoprazole
Question: i take 30 mg lansoprazole twice each day. Stomach pain. Diahhrea. Hurts when i go without eating. Eating small amounts. Burning in stomach. Have been on the meds for 10 days, my doctor says one month.
Had same result with ranitidine 150 mg - 2x day and mylan pantoprazole - 40 mg once day. Have had abdominal ultra sound. Everything is normal.

I read your question and i understand your concern. With normal work up stomach pain is likely a gastric discomfort like gastritis and likely acid reflux. Yes your doctor is right, at least a month should be the dosage time. However you need to adjust diet and lifestyle more than that. Lose weight, eat small frequent meals, avoid trigger diet like spicy foods,fatty foods, dairy products, processed foods, canned foods, chocolates, sauces,alcohol , beverages, soda, confectionaries, NSAIDs pain killers etc. Prefer fibrous diet, drink plenty of fluids, delay lying down after meal for at least 2 hours, keep head side of the bed elevated for 8 inches. I am sure these adjustments will help.
