Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain And Mild Pancreatitis
Question: Hi.
I've been suffering with significant ( I won't say severe) abdominal pain for last 5-6 days. I went to a GP 3 days back. He did sonography and he told me you have gastritis ( he said ulcers) and may be mild pancreatitis ( this feared up a lot ). He advised me to eat fruits veggies and low cal food. And prescribed me Raberprazole and Oxofloxcacin. And told me I will be alright in 10-15 days.
But I was scared with pancreatitis thing. So I went for serum amlyase and lipase twice and readings came normal.
Amalyse was 45 and 89 ( in two readings)
Lipase was 32 and 19.6 ( in two readings )
( I don't know why different readings in same day )
At this point time I feel abdominal tightness and pain ( not severe but significant) burps and a bit upper back pain on and off ( but not that significant, may be because I'm so into pancreatitis).
So tell me what should I do next. My GP has not given me any antibiotics. He told me to correct it by lifestyle and food habits.
So help me out. I'm a 27 years old male, non smoker and non drinker.
Regards,

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Pancreatitis is less likely as your amylase and lipase done twice were within normal limits.
You are having dyspeptic symptoms.
Continue taking Rabeprazole once a day before breakfast for 4 weeks.
For relief from abdominal tightness, take Ganaton OD once daily before breakfast for 4 weeks.
