Question: 51 year old female presented with c/o Abdominal pain since 3 days with not passing stool nor flatus with bloating of abdomen with nausea and 3-4 episode of vomiting.
Patient took glycerine suppository after which passed black coloured stool.
Diagnosed to have Adhesive (band) obstruction.
Underwent exploratory laparotomy with adhesiolysis .
Patient is having h/o Hysterectomy 10 month back.
Is the current diagnosis is related to previously done surgery of Hysterectomy?

Adhesive obstruction is mostly due to infections. If you have hysterectomy due to preceding infections then this can also be due the hysterectomy.

Surgery in the lower abdomen and pelvis, including bowel and gynecological operations like hysterectomy, carries a greater chance of abdominal adhesions. So yes it can be related.

Partial intestinal obstruction may relieve symptoms with a liquid or low-fiber diet, which is more easily broken down into smaller particles by the digestive system.
