Brief Answer:
no

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
It is not normal to have severe pain a week after a gallbladder surgery.
You should be getting better and the pain should be lessening.
If the pain is severe it may be a sign that something has gone wrong or you have developed some complication, like an infection, after the surgery.
See your surgeon or go to emergency as soon as possible.
You do not want to wait because if it is something like an infection you would need to get that treated immediately.
Severe pain expected a day or two after a surgery but not a week later.
Please contact your surgeon and see them or go to emergency as soon as possible.
Regards
Dr. Robinson
