Suggest Treatment For Severe Acid Reflux After Recovering From Viral Infection
Question: I was sick about two weeks ago with a mysterious virus that lasted approx. 6 weeks. Fatigue, throat ulcers, swollen neck lymph node. I was told by my doctor that it was an adenovirus that had to run its course. I started feeling better up until last week when i started to feel some unpleasant digestive issues. Fast forward to now, and i am having the worst acid reflux of my life. Day and night. It never goes away, only slightly, but always still there. My question is: could this still be the same virus wreaking havok on my body?
Brief Answer:
Not the same ongoing virus
Detailed Answer:
hello ,
I have gone through the details you have provided. It is not he same virus causing your symptoms. I suggest that you take omeprazole for 6 weeks. in case your symptoms persist beyond 6 weeks then you need further investigations.
Avoid citrus fruits, chocolate mint, deep fried foods, red meat and alcohol and caffeinated and carbonated drinks

I have not taken any painkillers or antibiotics. I just woke up with the most terrible reflux, burning severely up into my throat and severe pain in my upper abdomen. I do not have health insurance and was considering going to the hospital. Is this a good idea? Do you think they would do any testing on me?
