Suggest Treatment For Severe Acid Reflux And Fever When Diagnosed With IBS
Question: I have had irritable bowel with diaherra for twenty years. I had a flare up on Thursday and took bentyl for two days. Yesterday I began running a fever with severe acid reflux. Temperature reached 104 during the night but is now normal. Queasy stomach and minor headache is all that is left. For my reflux I usually take Zantac. Last evening I took two because I had eaten ice cream. I don't know what to do.

Based on your description, I believe it to be due to Viral infection.
Need not worry most of the viral diarrheas are self limiting needing no special medications. You can continue on Bentyl if the bowel movements are vigorous and crampy.
Also, add Racecadrotil 100mg thrice daily for three days. This will reduce the water loss and frequency of stools. Take ample amount of fluids. Restrict your diet to semisolid or liquid diet for two days from now. Avoid eating spicy and sugary foods.
