Question: My daughter lives in Phuket, Thailand. I am going there in four weeks. She has severe acne. Currently they think hormones and have her birth control and creme. It doesn't seem to be working. There is a paucity of physicians in Thailand, especially those who understand severe acne. I would like some advice on how to proceed. I can provide picture.

Brief Answer:
Isotretinoin would be indicated in her case

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you gor writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and i have also reviewed the image.
She has severe grade of acne and some post acne scaring is to be expected. She should ideally be started on oral isotretinoin which is FDA approved indication for severe grade and potentially scaring acne.

Regards
