Suggest Treatment For Severe Anal Itching
Question: I traveled to Germany a bit ago and after staying in a bed and breakfast began to have terrible anal itching almost overnight. Itches a bit during the day but nights are terrible. Have taken medicaton for pinworms and had several stool samples and blood tests done with negative results. What are they missing and what could this be? My husband was on the trip as well and has had no problems.

I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
Something that has started overnight, most probably is something that you got from there like a bug for example. I see that you have been treated for that. But also, do you have lesions of bug bites in your body? Maybe you have gotten a flea or some other insect that causes you itchiness.
Also, sometimes scabies is taken from these environments but you would have typical lesions of scabies.
One thing to consider is an allergy skin test. Maybe it was a coincidence that the itchiness started then, but you may have been allergic of something and continued to be after.
And lastly, check your liver functions tests like SGOT, SGPT, ALP and Bilirubin. When bile is accumulated under the skin, it may cause terrible itchiness and the only symptoms is a yellow color in the folds of the skin.
These are my thoughts.
