Hello and welcome
I appreciate your concern
The felodipine is a calcium channel blocker and is not ottotoxic. If the previous dose was convenient with no adverse effects like reflex tachycardia, worsening eczema or tinnitus then it can be restarted at that dose.
Furosemide is the drug known for its ottotoxic effects , that too at large doses.
ARBs are better alternatives and can be tried in place of felodipine after consultation with your doctor.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks

What are ARBs and how are they better alternatives? And are they less damaging to ears? Which is best?
If I reduced felodipine back to 5mg what else could I take together with felodipine to keep bp within recommended limits? Or would it still be better to go to one tablet ARBs whatever they are?
Thanks

Hello again.
ARBs are Angiotensin Receptor Blocking drugs. They are antihypertensive and include Losartan, valsartan, olmesartan, telmisartan among others.
Yes, they don't have any significant adverse effects that effect the ear. Felodipine and ARBs can be taken together provided the BP control is met, in consult with your doctor.
