default
Posted on Fri, 13 Jan 2017
Question: I have back pain from last 6 years. Pain is manageable but from last 4 month frequent urination started. Last 2 weeks it has become worse I need to go to urine almost every hour but very little urine comes . (80 to 100 ml). I feel sudden urge to urinate. I have disc bulge in my l4 -l5 disc which neurologist says is mild and can not cause urinary problem. Got all test done with urologist also he says there is no problem. Both doctor referred me to a pyschiatrist and I am on his medication from last 3 days. Whether my symptoms will improve with this treatment.

Brief Answer:
If imaging's too long back, new MRI of spine is necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

It is important to know when was the disc bulge evaluated with imaging studies (MRI), if it was last two weeks, okay, spinal cord compression is not the culprit.

Anxiety could be the cause in such case and treatment should start to give results in a week approximately.

Counseling also may be necessary in such case.

If there is a time period more than 3-4 months from the last MRI, it should be repeated.

Do discuss with your Doctor about these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.

Brief Answer:
In this case consider anxiety.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

In this case anxiety is a strong possible explanation and treatment should be continued.

In case the current treatment doesn't work after about one week, discuss with your Doctor about including Paroxetine.

Hope I helped you.

Wishing you good health.
