Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain While On Doxycycline
Question: Just finished a course of penicillin (8 tablets a day). Had tonsiltus, back pain, randomly upper and lower and achey left breast. Tonsiltus gone in 2 days however the pain in breast/Back continued to get worse. Am now on more antibiotics called. Doxycycline. On 2nd day of this and pain still there. I gave blood today also.

This might even alter the results of blood tests and make it very difficult to tell what the exact problem is. Switching antibiotics this way is really not advised without strong laboratory support. I suggest that you wait for the results before further treatment options are proposed. For now, pain medications alone such as a combination of Advil and Tylenol should be continued pending laboratory results to return. Doxycycline should be discontinued at this time until further evidence suggests that it is very much indicated.
