Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain
My wife is suffering from severe back pain. She took physiotherapy, medicines and exercises. Which were a temperory relief.but the pain is there.doctors say the pain will be under control as long you take precautions not to bend and do exercises .but anytime you will bend and there is strain the pain will be back. And it is so.and if there is pain you cannot exercise. I have heard of disk regeneration therapy by giving injection. I am living near XXXXXXX U.P. XXXXXXX where I can get this therapy nearby to bring back normal life to my wife.and how much it will cost?
Not available in XXXXXXX
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The disc regeneration therapy is a new procedure to regenerate the damaged discs. This procedure is not available in XXXXXXX It has been developed in XXXXXXX and is under trials. The success rate relapse rate and long term side effects are still not studied.
Since the disc degeneration is an age related change, the injections will not reverse the aging in all the discs. The approximate cost of the procedure is $25000-30000 depending on the patient.
Right now the best treatment for your wife is to continue regular exercises to prevent further progression of the problem and to consider surgical treatment in case the pain is uncontrolled with medicines.
I hope this answers your query.

Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
I have seen all the attached reports. Your wife is having only minor nerve root compression at the level of L4-L5 with normal bone mineral density. These are minor age related changes and do not immediately need a surgery.
She is getting the right medicines. Taking the medicines regularly with a regular physiotherapy will help in early improvement. Oral muscle relaxants can also be added for an earlier relief.
Hope my answer is helpful.

I can understand your concern.
It is good to avoid bending and lifting any heavy weights. She can use a chair with straight back, use a firm mattress on a hard bed, avoid using the belt as that will decrease the tone of back muscles.
She needs to continue working- as per her daily routine, go for regular brisk walk, maintain a healthy body weight, go for regular physiotherapy exercises to maintain the tone of back muscles to avoid further progression of the problem.
Apply diclofenac gel on the affected area. Warm compresses will also help in reducing the pain.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
Do continue taking ATT.

I have seen the attached reports. The reports are suggestive of tuberculosis. After starting the treatment the medicines need to be continued for 15-18 months depending on the clinical response. If your clinician has suggested to continue the medicine then you must continue it.
Take care.
