Viral fevers generally take around 5 days to a week to come down, till then you might need to take paracetamol(Crocin) to keep your body temperature low. You can take Crocin 650 mg tablets once every 6 hours to reduce the fever, otherwise the fever will spike again. It is too early to say if the fever is viral or bacterial, so you will have to wait for 3 days, then if the fever persists you can consult your doctor for a complete physical examination and relevant investigations such as a complete blood count, WIDAL, test for Malaria, Dengue, urine routine exam and microscopy and blood culture and sensitivity, these tests will give us an idea as to what might be causing the fever.
