Question: Hi I have been prescribed Percocet 10/325 for breakthrough pain with Fentanyl pataches 75mg. The doctor suddenly said to me that he has gone as far as he can with his treatment and I need to find a new doctor. You must understand I am baffeled and crushed. I am afraid of the withdrawls and my general condition. I am 65 years old. what should I do?

Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Cervical radiculopathy associated nerve compression and pain requires comprehensive treatment.
Physiotherapy for cervical muscle strengthening is important.
Pain killers should be continued as needed and opioid should be used in minimum dosage.
Pain modulator drugs like pregabalin or amitryptiline or gabapentin can be used to decrease pain sensation and dosage increased as needed.
Interventions like Epidural injections and surgery are the last measures.

In my opinion, you should request for neurosurgeon / neurologist, pain specialist and physiotherapist sreferral. I will suggest you closely work with these specialist - that is the best way to handle this kind of problems.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
