Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation

Question: we are into family planning my wife is suffering from a severe constipation, a gynae recommended Duphalac 2 tablespoon at night and she also tried 3tbsp but nothing is helping can you suggest something.

Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Does she always have habitual constipation ?
As such, Duphalac should help.
If it has not helped, she can insert one suppository of Dulcolax into the rectum at night, it will help in stool evacuation in the morning.
Furthermore, she should modify her diet to avoid regular constipation.
Daily intake of atleast 5 litres of water, fresh fruits with skin, green leafy vegetables not overcooked , XXXXXXX fibre - all are a must.

yes she is having constipation from last 3 years and she is taking 5liters of water n fruits daily. now as we are into family planning she is taking duphalac but her constipation problem is getting more worse. you suggested dulcolax, is it safe in pregnancy.
