Last year this time I had a tia and a XXXXXXX stroke.
Was put on these meds.
Just had a MRI and ultra sound. Routine. Everything looked good. Said only thing that show was a sinus infection.
Some possible diagnoses and suggestions
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
-- If you have other symptoms suggesting for an upper respiratory tract infection, like runny nose, sore throat, fever in the past days...then the cough may be part of that. In this case drink plenty of fluids, teas with honey, and a cough expectorant may be helpful. I recommend my patients to take Acetylcysteine 600mg once/day to decrease the cough.
-- Since you have been diagnosed with a sinus infection, I think the cough comes from the upper respiratory ways. It may be also a post nasal drip since you get worse when you lay down which is the time the post nasal drip gets activated.
-- Losartan is a medicine that give chronic cough, and generally when you have some time that you are using it so not in the beginning of therapy. Talk with your doctor to try to substitute it.
-- My impression is that if your cough is so bad that it doesn't let you sleep, you need to do a visit to a local doctor who can examine your lungs. You may have pneumonia which will not get better with just symptomatic treatment. Only a lung exam will confirm or rule that out.
Hope this is helpful.
