Suggest Treatment For Severe Dry Cough
Question: I have severe dry cough and when I cough I cough continously till I fainted,do I need to go to ER?
I have a severe dry cough and when I cough and when I cough it's continously till I fainted,I only took night quill pills and some cough drops and today I had mucinex pills but I still cough continously dry and whizzing cough,never been to hospital and never see doctor yet,plus answer,thank you

Though you have not mentioned about any allergies but still your cough could be asthmatic or allergic cough. First you should get some basic investigations like a chest x-ray and a spirometry done to rule out any other pathology. You have to take anti allergics like montair lc and a inhaler like symbicort or advair diskus. If the cough.is so bad that it's causing fainting attacks you may even need a short course of oral steroids. For all these you have to consult your PCP or a pulmonologist who can guide you properly.
