What Causes Excessive Sweating And Sore Throat While Having Cold Infection?
Question: I have a cold with asthma exacerbation. I'm taking Doxycycline, Tasselon Perles, steroid pack, advair Diskus, plus afrin and Flonase for allergies. Because of the asthma, I used a nebulizer 4 times yesterday. I had a fever of up to 100.7, but that is now gone.
My question is this: I have been sweating a lot at night and I don't know why. Is it related to any of the medicines; is it part of the infection process or a symptom of something else. I also have a sore throat- is that from all the medicines?
Please tell me what you think

Brief Answer:
Both the sore throat and the sweating are part of the cold infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
The sweating and the sore throat are part of the cold.
The sore throat usually lasts about 3-5 days.
While the sweating happens when the body temperature goes down. You may have had high fever during night and when it has gone down you have had the sweating. It is normal and may last for as long as you have these sweat swings.
Hope this is helpful.
