Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Pain In A Child
Question: We have a 4 yr old boy who just started complining that right below his right ear along his neck it is really hurting. maybe a little swelling. not unuasual behavior . just ate an egg sandwich. hurting enough he is crying?

Hi....by what you quote I feel that it is a muscular spasm of the neck muscles.
Usually it occurs during sleeping... Due to abnormal sleeping postures.
Right now I suggest you give Ibuprofen at appreciate dose.
If not relieved I suggest you see a physician as it might require a mild muscle relaxant and it is a presentation drug.
