Question: I arrived home from XXXXXXX last Saturday. En route home I had incredible flatulence with diarrhea. I have taken Imodium for 3 days and then decided to let it work out of my system. I am still having same symptoms and feel nauseous after I eat. I do have diverticulitis. I am eating chicken broth, banana, oatmeal and apple, Can I do more? XXXX

Brief Answer:
Sounds like you have an infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi there, Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic,

From the history you have given. I'd bet you need a short course of Antibiotics to kill a localized infection in the Gut.

If you were here in XXXXXXX I would recommend a combination of Norfloxacin and Tinidazole (Norflox-TZ) as well as probiotic tablets.

Whatever I would do though, I strongly suggest you see your primary doctor and start on a course of a similar medications as well.

Vin
